Family update -

Uncle Les -

He was undergoing treatment to determine what medications were needed and developed an infection that required that he be moved to the North Davis Medical Center.

Linda -

The report given to me is that Linda fell and broke her back. It was necessary for her to go to SLC for treatment.

As a family let us think of them and include them in our prayers. Please let us know of any other serious illness that you may know about.

Diane tells me I missed the best reunion ever!! I am so sorry I could not be there. She told me the food was spectacular and Lonnie's house is beyond beautiful. I missed my sweet Aunt Cumora. What an example of goodness and love. All of my aunts and uncles were so devoted to each other.

Diane also told me there was a tribute for my dear brother, Gene, from his cousin Greg. I read the kind words Greg told of Gene and I will forever miss him as we miss all our loved ones. I am also so grateful for my heritage, my parents, my sister and brother and all my family. My cousins have always been so loving and just good people and I am so proud and thankful I was born into this family. Your kindness expressed when Gene left us will always be held close to me.

Kirk and Randy were the only cousins my age and it was so unfair I had to race two guys every year. I grew up the Pammie, Leah Rae, Kathy, Jane, Cecile, Bonnie, Ganeal, Suzanne and remember the Frost Top! I have so many memories of summers at Grandma's and Star Valley.

DelRoy Anderson passed away on Friday, April 30. His obit can be found on walkerfamilymortuary.com. His viewing is May 6 and his funeral is May 7 at 1 p.m. DelRoy is a first cousin of Aunt Cumora and Aunt Gen.

BORN: December 11, 1932
DIED: April 30, 2010
LOCATION: Spanish Fork, UT
eloved husband, father, and grandfather DelRoy G. Anderson, 77, a longtime resident of Spanish Fork, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 in Payson. He was born December 11, 1932 to Cariel and Vilate Anderson in Afton, Wyoming, where he grew up. He attended BYU and graduated from University of Utah where he played football for both universities. DelRoy started his long teaching and high school coaching career for the Washoe School District in Nevada. He returned to Utah to teach in the Granite School District in Salt Lake City, the Sevier District in Richfield, and the Nebo District in Spanish Fork. He led the Spanish Fork Dons as head football and track coach through 20 successful seasons as well as coaching wrestling and baseball. DeRoy loved participating in and watching all sports and especially enjoyed following the careers of former students and Utah teams.
DelRoy was a member of the LDS faith, and served as bishop of the Spanish Fork 2nd Ward, along with many other church callings. He was dedicated to serving in the Provo Temple for many years. He spent the last 10 years of his life living in Gunlock enjoying the warm southern Utah weather. He loved the southern Utah area and the people he met.
He is survived by his wife, Afton Beckstrand of Spanish Fork, and their five children, Lowell of Payson, UT, Chris of Denver, CO, Lisa of Eureka, NV, Dale of Sandy, UT, and Amy of Spanish Fork, and their twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. DelRoy is also survived by his sister, Helen Hancy, of SLC.
Viewing will be Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Spanish Fork 2nd Ward Chapel, 98 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
